We don't like to stand still at Whitmore & White so we're always on the lookout for new and interesting wine, spirits, beer and food. Following a bit of a spring clean of our wine range, we're pleased to welcome three fantastic new wines just in from Italy - a pair of Lugana whites and a tantalising Chianti Classico from Tuscany. 

Those of you who shop with us in Frodsham will know Katy, but you may not know that as well as working at Whitmore & White, she and husband Dave also import an outstanding range of wine from New Zealand, all of which you will find on our shelves. Katy was in New Zealand just before lockdown happened visiting one of our favourite wine producers 

We're thrilled to welcome two new bottles of fabulous New Zealand fizz to Whitmore & White this spring, so we asked Toni Fyvie, European Sales Manager at HÃHÃ Wine to give us an introduction to the wines and the makers! We can't explain in words quite how fantastic this stuff really is, you're just going to have to try it. And at just £14.95, you should probably try both!

These wonderful wines are made by sister and brother team, Heidi and Roman, at Weingut Pfaffl in the Weinviertel region of Austria, in certified sustainable vineyards around Vienna  (or Mozartworld as Disney would have it!). Their range of wines have won more awards than you can shake a stick at and they were recently voted European Winery of the Year - and it's easy to see why.

One of the latest additions to our wine portfolio are the Ranch 32 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Scheid Family. The name Ranch 32 relates to the place where Al Scheid (pictured with the Scheid family and team) planted his first vines in California's Monterrey County in 1972. At the time, winemaking was still in its infancy in California

Port and cheese is just so quintessentially British isn't it? And it's never more so than at Christmas time when sales of both sky-rocket! Putting the festive tradition aside for a minute, with the style ranging from white Port, through aged Tawny styles and onto single vineyard and vintage Ports, there's no reason why Port shouldn't be consumed at any time of year!
