We're Spring Cleaning the Wine Collection!
Well, we're well into spring now, and in the wine trade that means it's time to give our wine selection a good spring clean!
We've been busy visiting a lot of trade tastings over the last few months, and we've done a little bit of travelling, in search of some fabulous new wines for you. We've had a flurry of new arrivals over the last few weeks, so here's a little summary.
New white wines include a lovely Pouilly Fuissé, a Saint-Véran and a Gavi with gorgeous citrus and honey notes. With summer on the way we've also added a couple of new rosés, including the Cristobal Malbec rosé from Argentina and the Delheim Pinotage rosé from South Africa, both great with seafood or summer salads.
The reds I here you cry? Well we've got some new stunners. From Spain we've added two new Riojas, the Orben and the Izadi, as well as the lovely fruity Graciano-Garnacha blend El Primero. From South Africa we've added The Wolftrap, a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre and Viognier, with an intense red colour and flavours of dark fruits and violets. We've also added a South African classic in the form the always popular The Chocolate Block. We've added to our Chilean range too with a fabulous new Carmenere and a fantastically full on Cabernet Franc in the form of the Orzada - black fruit toasty oak and vanilla. Australia also has some new faces in the form of the Thorny Devil old vine Grenache and a personal new favourite of mine, the Mitolo Jester - a properly dark, almost black, Cabernet Sauvignon with intense flavours of blackcurrant, spice and eucalyptus.
In all we've added about 30 new wines over the last few weeks, with some more new arrivals still to come. All our new wines are available now in both the Frodsham and Heswall stores, and they'll all be available online shortly. To celebrate our new arrivals we'll be putting one out on tasting for you for Tasting Hour on Saturday 16th, come in and give it a try!
See you soon.
