Tasting Hour - The Parker Brewery

Tasting Hour - The Parker Brewery

This week's Tasting Hour at Whitmore & White opens a few bottles of fantastic craft beer by The Parker Brewery up in Southport.

The Parker Brewery is a small, independent craft brewery based in Banks, Lancashire on the outskirts of Southport. The owner, Richard Parker, is from Preston and after seventeen years in wine sales working for Oddbins and House of Townend Wine Merchants, he took the plunge by opening his own microbrewery.

We'll be trying four of Rick's beers during Tasting Hour in both shops (11-12pm Saturday, Heswall & Frodsham), they being:

BARBARIAN BITTER 4.1%
A traditional English ale, golden amber in colour with notes of caramel. Smooth and well balanced, an easy drinking ale.

CENTURION PALE ALE 3.9%
A light refreshing ale with zingy zesty fruit flavours. A crisp and dry ale with a hoppy finish.

DARK SPARTAN STOUT 5%
Hints of chocolate and coffee and is silky smooth. Think bonfire night and treacle toffee.

VIKING BLONDE 4.7%
A delightful blonde ale with subtle hints of blackcurrant leaf and red summer berry fruit flavours, with a refreshing full crisp finish.

All of these have been thoroughly tried and tested by all of us here at Whitmore & White, and we strongly recommend you do the same!! Join us in store for rigorous, highly non-scientific testing!!
