Moulin de Gassac Viognier
1695
Viognier is a grape brought to fame by the tiny DOC of Condrieu in the hills of the Northern Rhone. This exotic and beguiling grape is difficult to track down and good examples even more difficult to find.
This simply wonderful example created by the world renowned Gassac estate in the Languedoc is a most incredibly focused and elegant example of this difficult yet enchanting grape.
Notes of white peach , pear and orange blossom, are joined by little notes of citrus peel. Wonderfully fruited yet remaining all times elegant, this is truly a wine to savour.
Try with poached Salmon, roast chicken or as a perfect pairing to French onion soup!
