Gordon & Macphail, the family owned creators of single malt Scotch whisky have released a new range of malts under the "Discovery" labelling, which are designed to introduce new whisky drinkers to a selection that represents the diversity of this wonderful spirit, whilst at the same time aiming to help more seasoned whisky lovers to explore a wider whisky portfolio.

I'm sure you'll agree that nothing screams Christmas like Plum Sake. What? You've never even heard of Plum Sake?!! Fair enough, nor had I until a few years ago, but now, along with Bing Crosby, Burgundy, and Star Wars Lego, it's on my Christmas essentials list.

Something bold, exciting and a little bit sensual has been causing quite a stir here at Whitmore & White these past few weeks. All the way from the land down under, where women glow and men plunder, we have acquired two absolutely phenomenal wines from a group of three friends who decided to combine their skills and make game-changing wine crammed full with as much charisma and sass as they are. The guilty suspects? None other than Some Young Punks. 

There's an old saying that can be attributed to many things but always seems more pertinent when it comes to wine: "Life's too short to drink bad wine". We've always advocated that spending a little more will get you a lot more bang for your buck, so I've put together a mixed case of wine that I think show the finer side of wine to you the consumer; increased concentration of flavours, limited production, more time and effort given in making the wine and wines that give class in a glass.

It's no secret the most anticipated moments during the festive season are food related. During the winter we hold tradition and heritage very close to our hearts whether it's midnight mass or demolishing a Chocolate Log in one sitting one thing is for certain, we love food here in the UK! But what do the Italians, world leaders in style, luxury and gastronomic delight, eat at Christmas?

Here at Whitmore & White, we've been working with Chase Distillery in Herefordshire since we opened and have been champions of their brand and their ethos ever since. The Chase Distillery is based on the same farm that grows all of the King Edward, Lady Claire and Lady Rosetta potatoes used to make all Chase spirits, meaning they have a sustainable single-estate "Farm to Bottle" approach.
